What Are The Ingredients For Royphnol

Collective entry ...

First I would like to thank you for your visits and comments. I am glad again that I am not alone knitter.

I was so busy in recent days with good and less good things, there is a long entry. For one, I'm
busy to sew my purple Zopfmusterjacke ... I have the half.

Then i had to try out my wheels. Without a clue but yet happy with the first 300g.
It has of earthworms to very fine wool everything.

Then I was back again in knit Domat / Ems. So I could buy myself a few Knäuelchen. Come along is a linen for a summer sweater from the illustrated book.

For Hauptstrickerei I unraveled a UFO and began a short-sleeved jackets for an ancient pattern of an equally old magazine. On Saturday drove the whole family once across Switzerland to Geneva at the Motor Show. My Junior Senior's sake. I had to knit 9 hours time. Of course I was also breaks, but I enjoyed the stress-free knitting time.

So, for now I have enough gequasselt. Soon

in the passage at the Mary Street 15, Stuttgart showroom next rainbow.

Artists

Panetta, Anahita Razmi, Moritz Reichartz, fats Sans, Manuel Scheiwiller, Paul Sochacki, Jörg Söchting, Simon Speight, Beatrice Steimer, Henning Strassburger, Kestutis Svirnelis, Ulrich Wulff.

What is screening?
screening means in translation: projection, screen, review, presentation, screening, transfer, nebulization.

The first screening in Berlin was the first in a series of events explicitly with the forms of presentation employed by video. The presentation shown formalism influences the work of art and is thus itself a work of art.

So what?
In a former shop in Stuttgart films screened on the walls. The store will be a screening room, and monitoring Abschirmraum spaces are shown performative videos, animated films, experimental films, sex films, music videos, documentaries, etc. There is a special screening performance space. The screening performance is carried out by 19.00 bis 23.00 clock by a moderator.

What is screening?
is projected, screened, presented. This is something transmitted to the viewer. The video is from the viewer and the viewer with light from the video. In parallel, an emerging fumigation can always make new images created in the head. There are reference points between the real and the intra-filmic spaces, between the observer and his experience and the self-referentiality of the film and its presentation. The effect of the one changed by the existence of the other.

Best of what?
The two curators Marco Schmitt and Patrick Alt films by artists from Berlin, Basel, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Warsaw, Seoul and Stuttgart together.

also each visitor is invited to bring a self-produced video. These films should be mixed to the screening, as it were remixed. Thus, all movies with the new once again changed in very different ways, worked and performed, and thus present. The result is a live video performance.

Christopher West presents

646 Massachusetts Ave
Indianapolis, IN

04.03. - 26.03.2011

Opening: Fr. 04.03.2011

18:00 - 21:00

Christopher West Presents is proud to announce Fan of a Fan, an exhibition of new paintings from Patrick Alt. Working predominantly in painting, performance, and text, Alt's work addresses the recurring questions of self that we find in modern art and literature; specifically asking what constructs the self? Like the renowned Austrian author Robert Musil's The Man Without Qualities (1930-1942) or Woody Allen's chameleon man mock...umentary Zelig (1983), Alt's work rejects the demand to be always repeating a definitive stance and instead embraces the polyvocalism of a learned poseur. For instance, the flâneuristic whimsy of his new raggedy abstract works has little in common with the isolation and introspection one finds in Alt's ongoing bouquet works. With every new work Alt's anti-oeuvre increases in fragmentation and perversion onto itself - partial objects that in their homelessness problematize contextualization and any exacting of process.

On view are three of Alt's latest abstract works made on stretched found towels and other scraps of fabric.

Alt (b. 1976 in Frankfurt am Main, DE) lives and works in Berlin. Alt attends the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main under Prof. Michael Krebber. Select recent exhibitions include I Open Up The Gallery at Kavi Gupta Gallery in Berlin (2010), Error (2010) at Autocenter in Berlin, and Say Hello To The Palmtreeman (with Henning Straßburger and Adrian Buschmann)(2009). Since 2008, Alt frequently exhibits his work as part of VANDEL (with Henning Strassburger, Christian Rothmaler, Philip Schwalb, Jannis Marwitz). This past winter, the group made their seventh exhibition SOZIALGESTALTUNG: Liebe plus Friedhof at Hospitalhof in Stuttgart.

Rosa Barba + Pop Hits 25 February 2011

Gio 'Marconi New & Old Bridge present

Rosa Barba Anna Ostoya
Exposures

Gallery II:

Tom Burr
: Black Lab and Oblong Box #2

Opening March 1st, 2011 6-8pm

Bortolami Gallery is pleased to present the first New York solo exhibition of works by the Polish artist Anna Ostoya. The show will feature a series of new works on canvas entitled Exposures that were all made during February 2011. For this series, Ostoya staged a durational performance. Each day, she began a new work with the aim of finishing 28 canvases-as many as there are days in February-by the time of the opening on March 1st.

Conceived in response to the Bortolami Gallery's invitation, Exposures depends on pre-determined limits. They were realized not only through the temporal restrictions of her daily regimen, but also through the physical restrictions of the 20 x 24 inch canvases on which she worked. Other materials included newspaper and internet images, papier-mâché, gold leaf, and acrylic paint. Moving between her kitchen and studio, Ostoya made papier-mâché from unused papers creating compositions that operated somewhere between meticulous planning and improvisation. The scheduled time-too little for either lengthy reflection or extensive revision-became a test of her artistic efficiency and an experiment in creative manufacture. Performing like an udarnik (a super productive worker in Communist states), she attempted, in paradoxical fashion, to recapture enthusiasm and genuine spontaneity through disciplinary constraint. Exploring the tension between representation and abstraction, each canvas is marked by the day's events and shaped by Ostoya's creative responses. Through the combination of cheap paper and gold foil, she opened the work to questions about economic and ethical values, and through her accelerated timetable, she aligned her practice with industrial modes of cultural production.

Ostoya's multi-media practice includes collage, painting, sculpture, and sound. Conceptually grounded, her work cuts through different art historical traditions and styles in order to elide prevailing fashion that endangers the critical and reflective potential of art. Rejecting the commonplace opposition of aestheticism and anti-art, Ostoya offers aesthetic objects that repeatedly direct the viewer towards the historical and institutional contexts of the work. Previous projects by the artist dealt with the subjects of violence and war, avant-garde histories, and the contemporary information glut. Anna Ostoya was born in Krakow in 1978. In 2009, she graduated from the Whitney Independent Study Program in New York. Ostoya's work has been exhibited at Tegenboschvanvreden in Amsterdam (2011); Galeria Foksal in Warsaw (2010); Center for Contemporary Art Kronika in Bytom (2010); the Center for Curatorial Studies, Bard College, Annandale-on-Hudson (2010); Lisson Gallery, London (2009); and Car Projects in Bologna (2009). She participated in Manifesta 7, Rovereto and the 2nd Athens Biennial. Upcoming exhibitions include a solo show at Silberkuppe in Berlin and a group show, Rearview Mirror, at The Power Plant in Toronto. She lives and works in New York.
Tom Burr 's work may currently be seen at the FRAC Champagne-Ardenne in France. Recently, he has exhibited works in a two-person show (with Monica Bonvicini) at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel; as a part of 'Rachel Harrison: Consider the Lobster and other Stories' at the Hessl Museum at Bard College; in 'The World is Yours', curated by Anders Kold at the Louisiana Museum in Denmark; in 'Moby Dick', curated by Jens Hoffman at the CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts, San Francisco, and in the exhibition 'Saints and Sinners,' curated by Laura Hoptman, at the Rose Art Museum, Brandeis University. He has held solo exhibitions at The Sculpture Center in New York, Vienna Secession, and Museé Cantonal des Beaux-Arts de Lausanne. Burr lives and works in Norfolk, CT and New York. info@bortolamigallery.com or 212 727 2050.
